Obart was formed in 1972 and located in North London. In those days we distributed construction equipment. It wasn’t until 1976 that we became an Agent for Tsurumi pumps, and we have been their largest European distributor since 2000.

After a management buy-out in 1991, we ceased sales of construction equipment and concentrated on our core business of marketing pumps and associated products. Our reputation has grown, and Obart Pumps Limited has expanded, as a result of the unrivalled performance, quality and durability of Tsurumi’s products, and our own attention to detail. Our success has been further enhanced by the introduction of other world-class brands such as Honda and Pedrollo. In 2003, Obart Pumps moved from Marden to a new, purpose-built warehouse, which is located at Maidstone and is within a 3 minute drive of Junction 6 of the M20.

We are now much easier to find and have greatly improved access to the UK motorway network.

The new premises have enabled us to increase our stock levels: in fact we now hold double the amount of stock compared to our last premises. This level of stock holding has allowed us to buy more products in bulk, achieve economies of scale and ensure that we remain efficient and competitive. It also permits us to cope with the widely fluctuating demands experienced during periods of extreme weather. The extra space has also allowed us to stock a wider range of products and satisfy the growing demand for instant pumping solutions and today’s “want-it-tomorrow” challenges. Our aim, as always, is to despatch the majority of items on the day of order.

The majority of our enthusiastic staff have direct experience of many our products, having used them themselves in their previous careers. This has given them a deep knowledge of the products and, in turn, an understanding of our customer’s needs. We are, therefore, skilled in the selection and specification of pumps for many and varied applications, and friendly advice is always freely available.
