How To Buy A Pump

In this section, we're going to help you to select the right pump by telling you what you’ll need to tell us. Buying the wrong pump, cheap or expensive, can be costly: pumping more than you need it to (wasting energy), failing prematurely and damaging property and/or needing to be replaced.

Pumping Terms

Here we explain the most common pumping terms we use on a regular basis. They are clearly explained here to help you in your pump purchase journey.

Pumps We Sell

We sell a range of pumps and pump accessories. From submersible pumps which are designed to be used fully submerged under water, to engine driven pumps, which are designed to be used out of water and must not be used inside buildings or partially enclosed areas

Using A Pump Curve

With a pump specification, you’ll often see a graph with a curve or series of curves. This is called a “pump curve” and it is the way the performance characteristics of a pump are described graphically. The pump curve describes the relationship between flow-rate and the head for the pump.
