Tsurumi Tree Planting Project

Tree totals indicated are planted in stages. CO2 data shown based on trees currently planted and will increase as they are allocated into the ground.

As part of our journey to net zero, we will plant a tree for every Tsurumi brand pump purchased in the UK by customers in 2024. The overall target is to plant in excess of 10,000 trees both in the UK and overseas during 2024.

Trees are one of the biggest weapons in combating climate change. They absorb harmful greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide (CO2) into their trunks, branches, and leaves, then release clean and breathable oxygen back into our atmosphere. Trees also help prevent flooding, reduce local temperatures, and provide habitats for wildlife.

We’ve partnered with Carma, a B Corp-certified company that will carry out the tree-planting project across a range of locations in the UK and Kenya.

This partnership allows us to simultaneously combat climate change and support armed forces veterans, by recruiting them to plant Carma’s trees via The Green Task Force. This is a charity which was established to take action against global warming, whilst providing reemployment for our veterans.

6% of serving and former serving personnel, and 17% of those that have been in a combat situation, are suffering from some form of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD). It has been proven that getting veterans involved in Nature-Based Therapy (NBT) has a positive effect on their mental health.

“A Tsurumi doesn’t have to cost the earth.”

Our pumps are reliable and long-lasting, which decreases the frequency of disposal and replacement, reducing carbon from the use of sustainable products. The longest recorded Tsurumi pump was in service for 38 years, providing low whole-life costs, and increasing return on investment for fleet owners.

The live tracker above which records how many trees have been planted and the carbon reductions made solely through the purchase of Tsurumi pumps, showing where they have been planted and further information on the projects and benefits to local communities.
